Once upon a time, there was a site called Sweatpants & Coffee. It was full of inspiration, comfort, creativity, and fun, and featured wonderful writing from many talented contributors. Now, I’m on a new adventure, but here is a trove of memories for anyone who wants to sift through them. It will always hold a tender and magical place in my heart, and I am filled with gratitude for that time and those companions.

Out of everyone, it seemed that Murray, our family dog, was the one who best sensed my bewildered, raw grief. He looked up at me with his large, concerned eyes and I felt understood. He didn’t prod me forward when I wasn’t ready to move yet. He didn’t judge me for my contradicting, inconsistent emotions. He loved me and accepted me, just as I was.
