Sweatpants & Sanity | Fantasy Break: World's Most Amazing Swimming Pools

Summer is here, and that means swimming to beat the heat! Whether you're lucky enough to have your own backyard swimming pool, or live near a natural body of water, or whether you have to brave a neighborhood pool filled with, well, your neighbors; most people like nothing better than a nice, cool soak on a hot day. What better place to relax, get some sun, and read your book than by a pool? This week on Fantasy Break, we're visiting five of the world's most beautiful, amazing swimming pools. Enjoy, and vote for your favorite in our poll!Gold Energy Pool, Lhasa, TibetIf you're ready to spring for a vacation in Tibet, the Gold Energy Pool at the exclusive St. Regis resort is, well, the gold standard of swimming pools. You'll be treated to stunning views of the Himalayan mountains; the pool itself is lined with gold tile, the water salted and warmed to a comfortable swimming temperature; and to top it off, there's a foot massage station nearby, and catering. Yum! I know it's just the gold tiles talking, but I had to giggle to myself that nobody might be the wiser if someone were to pee in this pool! Fortunately, from an angle with less light, this therapeutic pool is just as beautiful.Chongwe River House Pool, ZambiaHead to Zambia to this quirky boutique safari resort to enjoy the Chongwe River House Pool! It's tucked in along the banks of the Chongwe river, with beautiful decks and gorgeous views. Sip your cocktails under the winterthorn trees as the wildlife walks by.Cambrian Hotel Pool, Adelboden, SwitzerlandDon't you just love infinity pools? They're the kind that are filled to the brim and right at the edge of a surface, such that they look like they're part of the landscape they're in. You're not sure where the pool begins and mother nature ends! The infinity pool at the Cambrian Hotel is such a pool, overlooking the Swiss Alps. It's even heated in the winter so the views can be enjoyed year-round, even when it's hot cocoa season. Best of all, the Cambrian is one of the top 20 spas in Switzerland. The San Alfonso Del Mar Swimming Pool, Algarrobo, ChileThis is the second largest swimming pool in the world! Imagine over a kilometer of pristine salt water (it's a seawater pool), stretched in front of gorgeous white sand beaches. While this used to be the largest swimming pool in the world, the company who built this one has now outdone themselves in Egypt, with a larger pool there. That doesn't make the San Alfonso any less impressive, though! The pool covers 20 acres of area, and holds 66 million gallons of water at a maximum depth of 11.5 feet.Ik Kil Cave Pool, near Chichen Itza, MexicoThis is a mind-blowing natural pool - is there anything Mother Nature can't do better than us? While technically a sink hole, the cave pool is 96 feet wide and almost perfectly round, and 130 feet deep! Flanked by jungle vegetation and waterfalls, you won't have a lovelier $6 swimming experience anywhere in the world.[polldaddy poll=9766195]
